Notes from the Hill

I have a place on the coast in Northern California.  It refreshes, replenishes my creative spirit.  Notes from the Hill consists of images from my journals over the years.  When I journal there, my words often compose images which in turn become poems.  For the next several posts, I plan to share some of my photographs and images from the hill.

Grass Lessons

We all bend like separate

blades of grass in the sunset.

But watch.

We do not all sway

in the same direction.

Each row follows

a secret inner rhythm,

a grass course,

grass direction,

the inner-life learned

in tall spring and

remembered through winter.
