from The Flowers on Valentine’s Day 2014

valentinepeonies

Lace and wonder

inside a world of flowers.

I plunge deep into their centers

to find their inner wisdom.

What do they speak

that we have made them

the language of love?

And do we ever see beyond the obvious beauty?

I try to explore and map

each flower’s separate continent.

I am always drawn to their centers.

Perhaps the centers are the poles.

Inside peony, rose, tulip and daffodil,

my camera and I try to capture

the message of each bloom.

We explore North Pole and South

unified in each complex blossom.

I think this is the message –

Stop, let go of focus,

stay with me through all the ways of light.
